Advocacy Day

New York ACEP's annual Advocacy Day will be held Tuesday, March 3 from 10:30 am-4:00 pm at One Commerce Plaza, Suite 402 in Albany.

Each year, emergency physicians make a greater and more lasting impression during Advocacy Day in Albany. After a briefing on current issues to prepare you for the face-to-face meetings, we will head to the Capitol to meet with legislators and staff to discuss pressing issues facing emergency medicine and our patients. These visits serve many purposes including educating legislators on emergency medicine issues, seeking support for specific bills or legislative initiatives and showing appreciation for past support.

New York ACEP will schedule your Advocacy Day visits with key legislators and staff, so there is no need for you to contact your legislators' offices. Each attendee will be part of a leadership team comprised of colleagues and a New York ACEP lobbyist based on geographic location. During the briefing you will receive a hard copy of the schedule and position statements on specific issues and bills.

We will begin arranging legislative appointments in February. If you would like to attend, please contact New York ACEP by e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or phone (585-872-2417) no later than February 10, 2020.

With your involvement in Advocacy Day, New York ACEP can continue its work for a better political environment for our specialty and our patients.
