August 29 Webinar on DOH Proposed Regulations for NYS Stroke Designation
August 21, 2018 - HANYS and the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) will host a webinar with DOH on August 29, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, to provide an update about a proposed regulation for the New York State Stroke Designation program.
The existing voluntary stroke designation program began in 2002 through a pilot project and has since evolved. As of July 2018, 120 hospitals have volunteered to be New York State stroke designated. Currently, stroke designation is not required by New York State regulation.
This webinar follows a series of statewide outreach and discussion meetings between DOH and currently designated stroke centers, regional partners, and other stakeholders. Hospital operational and clinical staff involved with stroke care are strongly encouraged to attend the August 29 webinar and to discuss the proposed changes with hospital leadership.
The webinar will provide the opportunity to learn about the draft regulations and potential impacts, and ask questions.
Date: Wednesday, August 29
Time: 2:00 - 3:00 pm
Speakers: Marcus Freidrich, MD, Medical Director, Office of Quality and Patient Safety, DOH
