Adoption of Observation Unit Operating Standards published in the New York State Registry January 11, 2012
New York ACEP supported regulations on Observation Unit Standards published in the New York State Registry in September 2011. The standards, effective today (January 11, 2012) were adopted as originally published.
In early 2011, New York ACEP leadership met on several occasions with the New York State Department of Health representatives to share New York ACEP's position on observation services. The Department of Health's proposed regulations were published September 28, 2011 in the New York State Registry. New York ACEP's support of the proposed regulation was shared with the Governor and Commissioner during the comment period.
