New York ACEP Awards

Every year New York ACEP honors individuals for their contributions to the advancement of emergency care in New York State. The plaque awards will be presented at the Chapter annual meeting held in conjunction with the Scientific Assembly at the Sagamore Hotel in Bolton Landing in July.

Nominees will be reviewed and screened by the Awards Committee and the recipient will be selected by the Board of Directors at the May meeting by majority vote.

To submit nominations, complete the following form by April 15, 2008. This adobe fill-in form can be dowloaded and completed using the computer for e-mailing to nyacep@nyacep.org or printed to be mailed to New York ACEP, 1070 Sibley Tower, Rochester, NY 14604 or faxed to 585-546-5141.

Award Categories

Advancing Emergency Care
This award recognizes a New York ACEP member for a significant contribution in advancing emergency care in New York State.

Contributions to be considered include; Patient Care (improved delivery modes, quality care improvement, cost containment); EMS (organization, service, public education, disaster plan); Education (new or improved teaching methods, publication(s), education programs, evaluation mechanisms); Research or major contribution to a New York ACEP priority objective.

Leadership in Government Award
This award recognizes vision and leadership in the advancement of emergency patient care. The recipient has promoted patient access to comprehensive, affordable, high-quality health care in a manner consistent with the high standards of New York ACEP. The award was first presented in 1994.

National Leadership Award
This award recognizes outstanding service and dedication to advancing emergency care.

Physician of the Year
This award is conferred in recognition of contributions to the advancement of emergency medicine in New York State. The recipient has demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to the improvement of quality patient care and the advancement of emergency medicine in New York through clinical, research, educational and/or administrative activities.
